As someone who strives to be a "scholarly practitioner," I'm always asking: "What am I making of my world?"
I recently explored this question through the lens of the Six Endowments of Human Ecology—six areas where we can pursue the flourishing of our neighbors:
The True (knowledge and learning)
The Good (social mores and ethics)
The Beautiful (creativity and design)
The Prosperous (economic life)
The Just and Well-Ordered (civic life)
The Sustainable (physical health)
Every community has a distinct culture shaped by those who've lived there—some stories beautiful, some broken. But here's what excites me: we all have the power to cultivate shalom (wholeness, well-being, completeness) right where we are.
Want to know how to put this into practice in your own neighborhood?
